The global market leader for online auctions offers his advertising partners a marketing platform for the presentation of their services and products with this portal.

Objective

The client intended to offer major service partners (e.g. logistics providers) an opportunity to present their product portfolios within the online auction platform. Maintenance and updates of these microsites should remain in the hands of the partners.

Features

Partners are offered the opportunity to develop an own microsite in a base template, which would retain the look and feel of the overall auction portal. The subpages of the microsites would be automatically integrated into the navigation. An extensive selection of templates offers specific, flexible basic designs, e.g. banners.  The backend rights administration allows secure access for internal and external editors, e.g. staff of the provider, of the partners or of agencies.

Technology

Various additional functions were added to the Drupal-based backend CMS. Control for the fine-grained rights administration occurs via an integrated, similarly rights-dependent administration area. Similarly, additional administrative functions, e.g. a vacation replacement, were integrated. Users can upload static external files via Webdav. A two-step server architecture controls the workflow with approval and deployment from staging to the live system. The acceptance process contains a graphic marker function to highlight requests for change at a glance. Where required, a backup of the previous status can be uploaded automatically to the live system.

Project Scope

InTradeSys developed the portal system, and supported the rollout for the sites Germany, England, France, Spain and Italy from start to finish.
